SPIN's Fall Gala Was a Night to Remember
SPIN’s Annual Gala – “A Night at Club 1221” – on September 29, at the Balboa Bay Resort was thoroughly enjoyed by guests who gave their support to SPIN’s mission to help families in need with a hand-up through quality programs centered on restoring self-sufficiency. Chef Jamie Gwen, SPIN’s guest emcee and auctioneer, captivated the audience with her grace and charm.
SPIN honored the legacy of long-time Executive Director Jean Wegener by presenting the first annual Jean Wegener Humanitarian Award to Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley. During the event, Supervisor Foley presented a $25,000 grant to SPIN to continue its work toward ending homelessness in Orange County. Accepting the check on behalf of SPIN were Curtis Scheetz, SPIN Board Chair, and Mary Lou Shattuck, Gala Chair.
