Celebrating a Season of Kindness
As spring renews the world around us, we’ve seen that same renewal in the form of compassion, generosity, and kindness from our community. We’re feeling grateful for the many hands and hearts that have joined us in our mission to serve those experiencing homelessness. From hygiene kits to hot meals, and even the promise of free tennis lessons, here’s how our amazing partners have made a difference this season!
Pacific Life’s Tech Team Steps Up
The dedicated Technology Team at Pacific Life rolled up their sleeves to prepare and pack 230 sack lunches for local homeless shelters—and generously topped off their efforts with a financial donation to help cover supply costs. A few weeks later, they returned with 200 fully-assembled hygiene kits, each one offering a measure of dignity and care to the unhoused individuals we serve.
Socks & Support from Ace Serve Giveback
The Ace Serve Giveback, a group of high school tennis enthusiasts who formed their own nonprofit corporation with the mission of supporting unhoused persons with basic necessities, donated 500 pairs of socks for men, women and children. These socks will go directly to those in need via our Guided Assistance to Permanent Placement, Family Services Navigation, and Street Services Programs. The group also hopes to offer free tennis lessons to kids in our programs soon!
A Tradition of Giving: St. Joseph’s Table
Our friends and supporters at St. Joseph’s Hill of Hope held their Saint Joseph’s Table, or Tavola di San Giuseppe event on March 16 where they share food and faith, and donated much-needed non-perishables to SPIN. In the tradition of Saint Joseph’s Table, this generous donation helps feed Orange County families in need.
National German Honor Society Delivers 160 Hygiene Kits
Danke schön! A heartfelt thank-you to Emma, Ava, Georgia, Georgia Kelly, Melanie Roberts, Frau Schoeneich, and Annika Erhardt of the National German Honor Society, who thoughtfully assembled 160 hygiene kits on March 29. These kits, filled with essential items, were made with care, compassion, and the belief that small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s entire day.
Knights of Columbus Food Drive
The Knights of Columbus from Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, including longtime SPIN supporter Patrick Lauder, delivered a generous amount of non-perishable food for our pantry—ensuring that bellies are full and spirits lifted, no matter where someone lays their head.
How Can You Help?
Inspired by these incredible acts of kindness? You can keep the momentum going. On April 23, SPIN is participating in Help Them Home Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraiser supporting unhoused families and individuals in Orange County.
Your donation will go directly toward housing, wraparound services, and long-term stability—not just a bed for the night, but a path forward. Whether it’s rental assistance, job readiness, or essential supplies, your gift provides the building blocks of a better future. Check out our Giving Day Page to learn more!
